Rules and Regulation

Every player MUST read and understand the contents stated in the Player Rules set by JHBA.

1. Players must always:

1.1. Be disciplined.
1.2. Follow the rules of this Training Program and the coach’s instructions.
1.3. Inform the coach or JHBA management in advance if unable to attend any training session.
1.4. JHBA reserves the right not to bring any player who misses 2 consecutive training sessions without valid reasons.
1.5. Be punctual and arrive at the training/competition venue 30 minutes before it begins.
1.6. Give full commitment.
1.7. Help and cooperate with fellow players.
1.8. Respect the coaches and other players.
1.9. Wear appropriate sports attire during training and competitions.
1.10. Wear full attire (long pants and sports shoes) when standing on the podium.
1.11. Take care of facilities and equipment provided.
1.12. Keep the training venue clean.
1.13. Obtain permission from coach/JHBA officials before engaging in activities outside the training schedule.



2. Players are NOT allowed to:

i) Use mobile phones or communication devices during training.
ii) Be late to training or competition without valid reasons.
iii) Be absent without notice or valid reasons.
iv) Use foul language or be involved in fights during training.



3. Parents/Guardians Rules:

3.1. Respect the decisions made by JHBA management. Avoid interfering with discussions or decisions of coaches during training/competitions. All decisions are final.
3.2. Provide full support to JHBA to ensure badminton excellence.
3.3. Submit ideas or suggestions in a positive and harmonious manner to avoid misunderstandings.



4. Players participate in JHBA/BAM programs or activities at their own risk. JHBA is not responsible for losses, injuries, or accidents.


5. During tournaments, players must report movements outside supervision to the team manager, coach, and management.


6. Players are not allowed to go out late at night without valid reasons during tournaments.


7. Players are not allowed to leave early with family until the tournament (final stage) is completed.


8. JHBA is NOT responsible for accidents before, during, or after tournaments. Medical costs are to be borne by players, though each player is covered by insurance during tournaments.


9. Players must comply with JHBA rules from time to time and also follow the BWF Players’ Code of Conduct.


10. Players must maintain and uphold the good name of Johor State, JHBA, coaches, and officials.



Rules on Participation in Non-BWF, Non-BAM, or Non-State Sanctioned Tournaments

  1. Players with BAM ID may only play in tournaments sanctioned by BWF, BAM, or State Associations.
  2. Players/coaches/parents must confirm sanction status with the organizer before participation.
  3. Sanction rules are aligned with BAM and BWF regulations.
  4. Players who disobey will face disciplinary action by JHBA.


Sponsorship Rules (JHBA)

3.1. JHBA’s main sponsor is PROTECH (PROTECH ABSOLUTE (M) SDN BHD).
3.2. All Johor players MUST use attire and equipment provided by the sponsor during matches, training, and official events.
3.3. Every player MUST use PROTECH attire and equipment when representing Johor, except for rackets and shoes (players must submit reasons to JHBA if they choose otherwise).
3.4. Players not following these rules will face disciplinary action and may lose the right to represent Johor.



Reminders

i) Damages/negligence/loss caused by players are their own responsibility.
ii) Disciplinary action during tournaments is at JHBA’s discretion, with investigations to ensure fairness.
iii) JHBA, sponsors, and affiliates have the right to use players’ names, photos, images, signatures, statements, or related materials for badminton promotion/advertisement.
iv) Players may not sign contracts conflicting with JHBA sponsors without JHBA’s approval.
v) Failure to comply may result in suspension/removal from the Johor Badminton Excellence Development Project (J-BEST) and tournament participation.

INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT PARTICIPATION REGISTRATION MANAGEMENT PROCEDURE

Management & Fees

  1. Each international tournament registration will be charged a Management Fee (for both registration and withdrawal).
  2. The fee shows the player’s commitment to join international tournaments.
  3. The management fee is separate from the official registration fee paid to the tournament organizer.
  4. If a player is listed as a Reserved Player (R), the fee will be refunded after the competition begins.
  5. Fee rates:

*Note: Doubles partners from other states are not bound by this fee. Only Johor players must pay. If both players are from Johor, the fee is RM 200 per category.



Registration Procedure

  1. Submit registration 30 days before the official closing date.

  2. Applicants must fill in the provided form with complete and accurate information.

  3. Invoice will be issued, and players must pay accordingly.

  4. No payment = JHBA reserves the right to exclude the player from future tournaments.

  5. Doubles partners from other states must also pay the same management fee.


Withdrawal Procedure

  1. Applicants must provide a reason for withdrawal.

  2. Supporting documents (doctor’s letter, explanation letter) should be attached.

  3. Applications must be made before the official withdrawal deadline (see BWF Tournament Software, BWF Calendar, or Badminton Asia).

  4. Withdrawal before the deadline = no penalty.

  5. Late withdrawal = penalty from BWF (amount will be announced later).

  • Registration via WhatsApp will not be accepted.

  • Players must always check BWF/Badminton Asia calendars for official tournament schedules.



Refund Policy

  • Fees refunded if:

    • Player is on the Reserve List, OR

    • Player reaches the Semi-Final stage or above.



Player Achievement Report

  1. Johor players in international tournaments must submit a report within 14 days after the tournament ends.

  2. Purpose: to record and evaluate player performance.

  3. Helps identify potential candidates for Best Johor Badminton Athlete.

  4. Format includes: Name, BWF ID, Tournament, Date, Category, Partner’s Name (if doubles), and Achievement.

  5. Reports sent to: mohdqayyum@jhba.com.my (CC: jhba@jhba.com.my).

  6. Players must also attend a meeting with JHBA every 3 months.



Application for New BWF ID

  1. Apply 15 days before the official closing date.

  2. Requirements:

    • BAM ID

    • Passport copy

    • IC copy

    • State which tournament you intend to join

  3. No fee for new BWF ID.

  4. Forms available from JHBA Secretary (017-542 1711).

  5. Players without BAM ID must first play in at least 1 BAM National Tournament.

  6. New BWF ID holders may only enter International Series or Junior International Challenge before progressing further.
