History

JOHOR BADMINTON ASSOCIATION (JHBA) was established in 1978 and  registered with approval under the Commissioner of Sports Malaysia (PJS) on 31 July 1998 with registration number N-JHR-00349 under Section 17 of the Sports Development Act 1997.  The establishment of Johor Badminton Association is to administer and manage badminton in Johor more effectively while also improving the performance of this sport.

Along with the passage of time and modernization, Johor Badminton Association has produced many players/athletes, from grassroots to elite, who have achieved numerous successes in tournaments organized at the state, national, and international levels. These achievements have encouraged the association to work even harder to ensure that players/athletes receive comfort, adequate facilities, and proper support while also receiving guidance so that they can continue to showcase excellence in badminton, especially representing the Johor State contingent.

Johor Badminton Association (JHBA) remains determined and committed to ensuring that badminton in Johor continues to stay at the forefront and produces more talented players/athletes in the future.

Now, with the slogan TOWARDS A NEW ERA, Johor State Badminton Association will bring fresh momentum to advance badminton in Johor across various aspects.

Throughout 2024 and 2025, Johor Badminton Association (JHBA) continued to chart significant progress despite facing various challenges. This period served as a true test of JHBA’s commitment to strengthening the development of badminton in the State of Johor in a comprehensive and sustainable manner.

History has proven that Johor is a state rich in outstanding badminton talents, with the potential to be nurtured and developed to achieve success at higher levels.
